Ask Jeeves Logo.
AskJeeves became famous because of it's natural language search.  By performing your queries in the form of a natural language question, results are returned.

AskJeeves owns DirectHit, but its results come from Crawler based Teoma, which it also owns.  Therefore to get listing in AskJeeves, you need to crawled to Teoma.  Currently there is no way to submit to Teoma

Earlier this year, AskJeeves was purchased by IAC/InterActive Corp.  The company plans to focus on Ask's core business (search) and will integrate Ask search into its other properties over time.

In addition to Ask Jeeves and Teoma, Ask's results can be found on other properties the company owned before being bought.  they include:  Excite, Lycos, MyWay, MySearch, and Hotbot to name just a few.
