The end of Google may be near - at least for Yahoo!

According to Webmasterworld forums, Yahoo! has begun testing Inktomi in the US for primary search engine results. We knew this day would come. It was only a matter of time.

We heard rumblings a couple of weeks ago that Yahoo! in Australia was testing Inktomi results, and that the other portals would roll out with these results in stages. It appears that Yahoo! US is accelerating these plans by also testing Inktomi at the same time.

We performed our own searches and didn't see any difference in the few results we were shown, but others are noting changes. Yahoo! says that the Inktomi test results will affect about 2% of total search volume

So, like we've been predicting: We will go home one night and come in the next morning and the search engine landscape will have taken a drastic turn again.
