Ask D.C, Jeeves

  • May. 7, 2003

In April, we mentioned that Ask Jeeves updated its software providing improved results. They have also seen continued improvement with its shares as they have climbed from about $2.50 in October 2002 to just under $10.00 May 2003.  The District of Columbia’s Governments website is now the latest using Jeeves Solutions to simplify it’s search for the site.

The decision for the D.C. Government to update its search solution is to provide more effective search results for residents and to ultimately reduce incoming phone calls and save 57,000 hours annually. Jeeves Solutions says that each query saves a state employee a three minute phone call.

This is a good move by the D.C. Government as many of us have less than satisfactory search results with many government and university websites when trying find the desired information.
