Overture's new Site Match

Last week we saw the launch of the new Yahoo search.  Gone are the days of Google results being displayed in the Yahoo listings.  Similar to the Paid Inclusion services offered by Inktomi for the past few years, Overture is now jumping into the Paid Inclusion game.  This is a service that guarantees that the URL’s submitted will be visited by the search engine crawler every 48 hours.  It does not guarantee rankings in the search results, but it does guarantee that your pages will get spidered and the likelihood of recent content changes getting picked up is greater.

When you submit URL’s, you can submit a couple pages or the whole site.  You can select the appropriate category. You select the category you would like to see your site listed in and they will review the site for a “review fee?of $49.00 US. This is an Annual fee per URL to cover ongoing quality review. Once your site is accepted, there is a cost per click for each visitor one of their partners send to your site.

The Cost Per Click (in US dollars and cents) is $0.15 for Tier 1 Categories such as Computers & Software, Dating, Education & Career and Jewelry & Watches and $0.30 per click for Tier 2 Categories such as Financial Services, Flowers, Gifts & Registry, Health, Beauty & Personal Care, and Home & Garden.   This Fee is charged for each click on a URL. There is a Minimum Click Deposit - Per domain or host for future clicks.  This cost is $50.00 US.

To ensure quality control, Overture states that while “Some pages are created deliberately to trick the search engine into offering inappropriate, redundant or poor-quality search results; this is often called "spam." Overture does not want these pages in the index. Overture is also offering an XML Feed service.  Site Match Xchange for Large Advertisers is available wanting to submit more than 1000 Web pages for review. For these advertisers, they provide a dedicated account representative and an XML feed. You have to contact them by email for personalized assistance.
